What is coaching?
Coaching is a catalyzing relationship that accelerates the process of great performance. It is about individuals and/or organizations identifying their purpose and living out of that purpose.
Coaching is a journey of personal and professional discovery. During this journey, I can help you with the following:
· Set bigger/higher goals and reach them faster
· Design and implement a plan of action
· Find the best decision for you
· Make permanent changes in all areas of your life
· Maintain a healthy balance between your personal and professional life
· Keep looking ahead to take advantage of opportunities
· Bring out your personal best, while focusing on your needs, values and vision.
· Solve problems
I believe you can create your own best answers and I’m here to support you in that process.
What can you expect from me as a coach?
· I will be respectful and constructive- No matter what happens during our calls, you can expect me to say only the things that will further your life and you goals. You can be certain that I will never put you in the wrong, criticize you or judge you.
· I will listen, share and endorse- You are the focus. I listen even beyond what you are saying. I share my ideas, comments and views on your situation, dilemma or opportunity with you. I’m your fully supportive external voice.
· Confidentiality – I guarantee the confidentiality of any information you entrust in me. Your confidences and personal secrets will not be discussed with anyone. As part of the coach’s on-going professional development, client hours and contact details are ONLY logged for accreditation with the ICF who maintain the right to contact the client and verify the hours of coaching.
Where do we begin?
I conduct my coaching sessions by phone or in person. By phone, we can maximize our time by eliminating traveling.
We will first start with a one-hour session. During this call or visit, we will discuss the following:
· We will review the coaching policies and procedures.
· We will talk about you: Your expectations, your needs, your accomplishments, your challenges.
· I will talk about my coaching style and how I will support you through the process.
· We will select the format of our sessions and schedule the first few calls or visits.
TEAM COACHING
Team coaching can be done with an existing team or a team in training whom we wish to accelerate their capability of working together. The coach could use team profiling tools which will enable members of the team to recognize their individual differences and determine the strengths as well as their blind spots, it is mostly the learning in action which generates the best results.
Beyond improving team productivity, team coaching promotes, among others, stress and conflict reduction, the capacity to solve problems and make harmonious decisions.
A good coach understand that the objective of intervention is to facilitate training for the whole team, not only the training of a few individuals.
WHEN TO USE TEAM COACHING
- To acceleraet the growth and maturity of the team
- To promote the team's complementary skills and qualities
- To develop the team's operational performance when new members are introduced
- To establish a collective success plan with clear objectives and performance indicators
ADVICE FOR A SUCCESSFUL TEAM COACHING
- Fully understand the demand in order to identify the real need
- Ensure the team leaders' volontary commitment to the coaching process
- Follow-up with the coach after each coaching meeting in order to identify oppoistions and obstacles
- Support changes that the team members have undertaken and promote ongoing training by acting as a coach (ex. ask questions, encourage, challenge)
- Do not use the coach as a messanger in order to reinforce the organizations conventionality
